My Story

I love food and I love humans.

I believe food is the webbing to life itself, just like the air that we breathe. As a foodie, and anti-diet dietitian, I believe food should be celebrated, not controlled and tied up with rules.

It wasn’t always this way, however. I began practicing as a dietitian using a weight-centric model where I taught calorie counting, portion sizes, and typically tracked the weight of my clients. Clients would start off strong, and then eventually “fall off the wagon” and feel frustrated that they couldn’t maintain the lifestyle that I thought I was teaching them. I asked myself “why couldn’t I help these people find the freedom they were looking for?”.

It came to my attention that I may have been doing more harm than good for my clients. As a Registered Dietitian, it is in our Code of Ethics to first, Do No Harm. As a Yoga Teacher, the first ethical principle to a yogic life is known as Ahimsa, meaning non-harming. As I connected the dots, the course of my career changed. I quit my job and travelled the world for six sweet months. Upon my return, I started Nourished Freedom to support clients to find freedom with food, once and for all.

I infuse yogic philosophy, Eastern wisdom, and am rooted in a Health At Every Size Approach® guiding you to true holistic health, free from prescriptive diet plans or calorie counting.

As an Intuitive Eater and an Intuitive Eating coach, I have been witness to the shift in the overall health of my clients through healing their relationship with food and their body.

My goal is to help you reconnect to your internal cues of hunger, satisfaction, fullness, regain trust with your body, and build a free and peaceful relationship with food and your body, for life.
